The once-mighty lion, his mane thinned and gait unsteady, moves through the golden savannah. Behind him, a clan of hyenas weaves like ghosts through the grass—silent, patient, persistent. They linger just beyond his weary roar, eyes gleaming with opportunistic intent. Age has dulled his strength, turning the king into prey. The hyenas know: time is their ally. They bide their moments, testing his resolve, awaiting the stumble that will turn defiance into defeat. Nature’s law unfolds—unyielding, unsentimental. An old lion gets arthritis in its joints. It no longer has the strength or speed to catch its prey. Slowly the lion becomes malnourished. The lion grows weak and dies. Hyenas are good at telling when an animal is sick or weak and are hot on this lions tail.
